Behavioral Analytics™ CCTV Surveillance

New Threats, Superior Solutions

Behavioral Analytics™ leverages research on the learning and memory processes of the human brain and applies these processes to the analysis of visual data. The result is a new technology proven to autonomously identify abnormal behavior within the field of view of a surveillance camera in real time – enabling security personnel to monitor exponentially more video in a more effective and faster manner.

Although others in the industry have used rules based video analytics algorithms to observe, classify, and report incidents recorded by a camera, Behavioral Analytics utilizes a different technology that emulates the natural thinking process without the need for intervention or direction. This revolutionary system is essentially a bridge that connects cognitive machine learning to computer vision in order to analyze video and provide actionable intelligence in real time. The system observes what happens in the scene, learns the behavioral patterns that occur over time, and alerts on abnormal activities.

Much like a human reacts to a new environment, Behavioral Analytics observes a scene through its “eyes” (video cameras); learns the normal behavior in the scene through its “brain” (machine learning software); and responds to all abnormal behavior.

Because Behavioral Analytics emulates the processes of the human brain, it is able to learn autonomously. The system builds memories or hypothetical concepts - Hypocepts™ - that closely mirror the way in which humans form memories and cognitive relationships. These Hypocepts enable the creation, storage, and decay of observed behavior patterns – short and long term memory; and “forgetting”. These models are continuously refined into structures that account for and explain the observations made by the system.

Since Hypocepts mature with time, the system has the capability to learn from what it observes, remember activity patterns and adjust to changes in the environment, field of view and equipment – without manual interaction.
